You've got me, and I'm sure, many others, imagining ourselves sitting on the front porch of our 'mansion' in the South.

Also, thanks for embedding pie in my mind like a laser beam. :)

We've got a mom and pop restaurant here right outside of a little historic town called Abbeville SC. It is owned by a Mennonite couple, pop is gone now mom must be in her 90's. I go there just to eat the lemon meringue pie. The town is like stepping back in time, the main square is brick paved with lots of great architecture everywhere. It's a little town with a big personality with loads of potential. Actually SC is ripe and ready for the pickers, if you know someone likes old Southern mansions there are still a few around that haven't been redone. Abbeville is staying true to it's roots and is attracting a lot of out of state investors. But like you said in your earlier post it's not a get rich quick investment opportunity. parts of SC is just now beginnning to open up to the reat of the world. This particular town was a summer playground for wealthy plantation owners coming up from Florida to get out of the heat. They built the big houses around the town square. Big wide wrap around porches. You know Sleeping With The Enemy that Julia Rogerts starred in was filmed there in one of the old homes. I think it stood vacant for years after that and an artist bought it and renovated it.

I'm right there with you, Sally. There's a family place here in my neck of the woods, called Baker's Square. They're known for, among other things, their pies. They have a French Silk that even Shakespeare would work hard to describe adequately. :)

The post can be about the pie -- not problem. :)

Wally always got second billing, though he was such a great student and stud athlete. The girls always seemed to like him too. :) Tony Dow never did much after that, though I've heard he's done well as a producer and director.

BawldGuy I'm more interested in who made that yummy looking chocolate pie! If I'm not mistaken that looks like meringue on top (sp?)I did spell check on that but it doesn't look right. I haven't had on of those since my mom passed away and that 30 some years ago. Oh um sorry I know the post wasn't about the pie but just couldn't get past that.As for the video guess on who the guy was, I knew who it was just couldn't think of his name. So I guess I don't get any points for my comments on either huh? :-(
