>You can spout that defense all you want…

That defense allowed the Titans less than 10 minutes on the field in yesterday's second half. Yeah, they're not the Colts, but defense is defense. Cromartie, our version of Neon Deion (sp) and is the real deal. He's a 'shut down' corner. Because of his emergence another #1 draft pick, Jammer, is now on the other side. Most teams don't have this luxury.

Bottom line? If the Chargers win next weekend it'll be an upset -- Just like the last couple times. :)

The NFC's best bet was the Cowboys until Robo and T.O. were hurt. That leaves a pretty big vacuum if they're not healthy.

I'm scheduling other activities for Super Bowl's second half -- unless the Chargers are in it that is. :)

Hopefully Gates is okay enough to play. You can spout that defense all you want... and they are tough and do give the Colts fits... but it is up to your QB NOT making huge gaffs.

The Bolts have to dictate the play of the game from the beginning... and have enough in the tank to get to the point of the game where the clock registers 0:00 after the fourth quarter.

At this point... all I can surely say is that if I'm in the NFC... I'm so thankful I'm NOT playing in the AFC for the next two weeks... the right four teams remain in the AFC and thus the NFL. The NFC teams are over-matched and I'll be able to get some things done around the house during this years Superbowl.

Wouldn't argue that for long.

The most recent history though, doesn't seem to predict a convincing Colt victory.

We ruined their perfect season a couple years ago -- in their house no less.

We beat them this year, though they were not near full strength. We tried in vain to lose that game, but the gods of random luck allowed us to prevail.

We seem to match up better with them than most teams. Peyton doesn't do well when he's running for his life or already on his back. :) Our secondary and linebacking corps are better than most, and with a less than perfect Harrison playing (or not?) we have a solid chance of getting out of there alive.

We have the next D Sanders at corner, Crommartie, who can cover anyone, and leads the league in interceptions after playing less than 11 full games.

If we do manage to escape Indy with a win, what's the 'reward'? Facing the Patriots in 15˚ weather?

Which brings me to the new Charger fan rallying cry: Go Jags! :)

By the way, good luck to the Broncos in their rebuilding program. We need them to get back to their normal level of play, which is winning. The AFC West is beginning to look a lot like the NL West -- pretty weak.
