Yeah -- an oasis by any other name is still a cool place to find yourself. Talking baseball with Josh? The cherry on top.

I always enjoy talking with you, Cher.

Murphy must have taken a brief vacation to visit you from our "you know who" property which is where he LIVES. I'll tell him to come back home and leave you alone. We've been trying to evict him for a while ourselves. We've got enough evidence to put him away for life.
I busted up when I heard you were unable to make cereal. Been there. Or was it "unable to lift a finger to make cereal" or "unwilling to get out of bed because Murphy might trip me on the way to the shower".
A very good article, Jeff, about how little we control when Murphy is in our presence and how life in this business is all about picking up the pieces of other people mistakes.
This article was also a reminder that this is the time for character and to keep a sense of humor (as YOU clearly do). That sense of lightness and faith that normal will return, keeps us from becoming hopeless and bitter.
Life is too short and too wonderful to let this stuff get to us.
I keep a list of "touchstones"...things that connect me back to my spirit... a hot shower, a walk at the beach, prayer, meditation, excercize, sneaking off to a movie in the middle of the day, cuddling, petting my cat, making a pizza, going out for a good steak and dessert,Casa de Pico, See's Candies, watching the moon rise, sunrise or sunset, Mt Helix on a clear day, coffee and cookie at Starbucks, a good bookstore, Coronado, the sound of a shaken Martini, dancing to great music, a road trip...so many things to turn to when life gets really tough.
