Our independence is based upon the freedom we Americans enjoy. That freedom was first won in a war, in which the first Americans paid the price, some of them with their lives. It’s been maintained ever since by our will as a people to stand up for our freedom against all those wishing to snatch it from us. Peace through military victory is what has kept us free for over two centuries now. Without that freedom, there is no independence.
Our forefathers had the courage to first declare their independence in writing — and sign it. They did this knowing the cost. We’re so blessed to be Americans.
When we look at our flag, we appreciate that freedom, it’s price, and those who gladly paid it.
Here’s what our freedom to be independent looks like today. Happy July 4th! May God Bless America.

Haven’t done it for awhile, so thought it was time.
Redfish Emerging Markets is a consistent source of solid info. I’d love to talk with them, but haven’t been able to so far. They’re a tough reach. (Mark — please contact me, as I’d love to talk with you.) Anyway, they published a piece today I couldn’t resist passing on. Chicken Little Is Running Wild Again… demonstrates I’m not the Lone Ranger. The main stream media’s #1 agenda is to make money. #1A? Put forth their own agenda and improve results of #1. Take a look.
Jay Thompson of The Phoenix Real Estate Guy He published RIP George Carlin which includes a classic routine in which Carlin tells us the differences between football and baseball. It’s also worth the trip to the comments, which include some cool Carlin quotes.
Jeremy Hart at NRVLiving — Real Estate. Simplified. put a video up today that simply put, I cannot let the day pass without sharing with you. Regular readers know by now, I’m a baseball guy through and through. I played it, coached it, umpired it up to the Division I level in college, and even bred it, resulting in a vastly improved version of me as a player. What yer gonna see in this video I will not describe here. Suffice to say if ESPN is lookin’ for the Web Gem of the decade, this just might be it. Take a look and see if you agree. Alas, ESPN requires that it actually happened, which of course, it didn’t. Ya gotta admit though, looks way cool. Thanks Jeremy. And this was in the hopper before we talked today.
“…and remember. The daily Bawldys have approximately 1/365th the value of our annual awards.”

The unsung benefit most fathers bring to the table is leadership, and the ability to remain calm when others are anxious. How many of us look back at parts of our childhoods, only to realize we were sheltered from the real world of adults? This is part of the job description. Kids grow up too fast as it is, so allowing them a bit more time to be kids is a gift, priceless in nature. Ironically, we often don’t realize we’ve received this gift ’till we have our own kids.
I’m sure that epiphany has been hitting dads since there have been dads.
So to all you guys out there who’ve done your best to keep your kids alive and well in Kiddyland — I offer you my salute and most profound respect and admiration. It’s a lot easier said than done.

A new Federal report is out, and the bottom line is — Texas rocks, Big Time.
I screamed from the mountain top last year that real estate investors should be following me to Austin. While most of the country is a net negative on values, they’re up nearly 8%. Clients who bought there are up over 2% since December for Heaven’s sake. Same goes for the whole Dallas-Fort Worth (known as the Metroplex)
You may have missed Austin, but you don’t have to miss what’s happening in a handful of other regions, and not only in Texas. Kansas City has some stellar opportunities, two of which I’m poring over now.
Once the holiday fun has worn off, get hold of me and let’s talk. This is the best buying opportunity I’ve personally seen in my career. It’s not even close.
Now, for today’s theme music. You gotta pick yerself up and roll on. Crank it up.
