See, treating Little League players like Major Leaguers is one of the best ideas I’ve seen in awhile. Why? ‘Cuz we all like to be treated like Big Leaguers, don’t we? I sure do.
This is what Brown and Brown Investment Properties has been endeavoring to achieve for over three decades now. Our clients are regular folk who simply don’t have millions to invest in office towers, or 500 unit apartment complexes. But they have the same agendas those guys do. Why shouldn’t they be treated the same? Duh — What a concept.

When Josh was a Little Leaguer back in the day, we’d really put on the dog for post season play. We’d ‘Hang a Star’ for a great defensive play. Call players by their favorite nick names. Many of them were actually interviewed by local papers. It was fun, and the kids ate of the special treatment. When I was still umpiring for the NCAA I’d invite a couple of Blues to form my own Little League All-Star umpiring crew for post season. We’d show up in our college garb with the bright white NCAA on our hats and the players would literally take up their game a notch.
I remember one game in particular. I was behind the plate, and the first pitch of the game was a called strike. “HUH!!” I grunted loudly, while lifting my right arm and pointing. To which the catcher replied to nobody in particular, “Oh man, that is so cool.” You can’t pay me for that moment.
There’s something about being treated like a real Major Leaguer.
